Why Reboot?

A little over a month ago, I was in a slump with my dietary choices. I had, over the past couple of months, drifted into my usual pattern of craving high-fat plant foods and chocolate bars (vegan, of course!). It started not with the holidays, when I did unusually well at averting dietary disaster because of my participation in a special Ultimate Weight Loss group called Mastery. Pinpointing the exact moment when I "slipped" is difficult. But by the end of January, I was eyeing the candy bar selections at Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Trader Joe's markets. I've followed several low-fat, whole food, plant-based diets at various times in the last 15 years, interspersed with periods of eating higher fat, processed vegan foods that have appeared in supermarkets over that same period of time.  I won't go into a history of each and every diet, but it started with Dr. McDougall's Maximum Weight Loss (MWL) Program in 2001 or 2002.
