5 + Vegan Online Resources to Explore
I can't believe I started this blog so long ago, in 2018, and haven't posted much of anything since then. I've been busy and then there was this thing called a pandemic (Covid-19, for those of you reading this years from how) that interrupted my life like it did the lives of the rest of the population. But all through it, I've remained vegan, so that's a small win.
So I'm back and trying to figure out a new perspective for this blog. I'd love to be able to share what I already know about a plant-based diet, but I know my experiences alone aren't enough to convince people to switch to a plant-based or vegan diet.
Six years ago, I completed the FOK Cooking Class. I hoped it would help me share veganism with the world. And in some ways, it did. I shared how to cook without oil with friends and family members. My cooking improved, and everything I made tasted much better by applying what I learned in that class.
In 2016, I joined UWL or the "Ultimate Weight Loss" program, taught by Chef AJ and John Pierre, both experts in their respective fields. I had already met Chef AJ through some mutual friends and participated in one of her earlier programs at her apartment, and had also helped a few times when she gave cooking demos. It was really one of the best things I did at the time, join UWL. I learned so much and met some wonderful people.
My main message is: go vegan! Seriously, it's the best thing you can do to fight climate change, save the world, save the animals, and prevent future pandemics. And it will improve your health, too. If you don't believe me (and I don't expect you to), check out one of my five most favorite vegan/plant-based sources below:
- Forks Over Knives
- PlantBasedNews
- Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (make sure you check out their podcast, the Exam Room)
- Mic the Vegan's YouTube channel
- Chef AJ's YouTube Channel
And here are some more new ones that you might find helpful if you're just starting a vegan or plant-based diet:
I just completed my Plant-Based Nutrition certificate, which is only one of the great programs they offer. They also have tons of free resources for anyone curious about a plant-based diet.

If you're familiar with or a fan of the Engine2 books authored by Rip Esselstyn, you'll want to explore this website, which also offers retreats and programs as well as recipes and other resources.
This website, started by Victoria Moran, vegan author and expert, features links to sign up for the Mainstreet Vegan Academy, blog, and a podcast archive. I'd love to attend her academy one day now that it's virtual, and hope to do it sometime next year if possible.
So that's it for now. I may be moving my blog over to Wordpress in the near future. I'll definitely post updates if and when that happens. I'm taking a blogging class to learn new ways to create a more engaging blog.
Enjoy these resources. Thanks for reading.
